Given my passion for documentary photography, I opted for a photojournalistic approach also when shooting weddings. For this reason, before you take a look at my works, I think it is useful to explain what this kind of photography is about and to underline the main differences between it and classical wedding photography.
In brief, documentary photographers record reality in the making, interpreting it with their style as things happen in front of them and their lens, without staging anything. Regarding ceremony photography it is my priority to act discretely in order to capture natural and authentic moments with photographs which will be able to stir true emotions in you, your family and your friends for years to come. My approach hinges on the idea that the wedding shoot has to be functional to the ceremony and not vice versa. For this exact reason I would never ask bride and groom to pose as they were models, and I would never intervene on the natural sequence of events during the wedding, with the purpose of taking pictures which, even if appealing, are unnatural and stereotyped.
The video as well, if requested, is based on these principles and it is made with the same criteria and discretion of the photo shoot. It will be very different from all traditional wedding videos and will allow you to revisit your day every time you watch it.
In 2008 I was given an honourable mention in the category “Wedding and Ceremony” of the Professional Photography Awards. I would also like to add that I am committed to respecting Tau Visual self-regulation codes concerning Ceremony and Portrait Professional Photography.
In 2011 I joined Associazione Italiana Fotografi di Matrimonio (Italian Wedding Photography Association), since I share their spirit and their aims.
