I was born on 7 November 1975, in Pisa.<\/div>\n

I discovered my interest in photography when I was 12, while watching at school a projection of landscape photos taken by a mountaineer photographer. The same year, since I was spending all family money shooting Polaroids of everything I saw, my father bought me my first reflex camera, and the next year I received all the equipment to process and print black and white film at home. Since then I never stopped dedicating myself to this activity, which became my profession in 1997.<\/p>\n

I love documentary photography as I believe it is the genre of photography which best takes advantage of the peculiarity of the medium and this is the only kind of photography I practise now. Until 2000 I shot my works exclusively in black and
\nwhite, but, when I made my first trip to Cuba, I thought I could not ignore Isla Grande\u2019s distinctive colours, so I decided to start using colour film as well, having the great masters of this genre in mind, such as Alex Webb and David Alan Harvey.<\/p>\n

Today I am devoted to my professional activity, splitting my time between shooting, film or digital, and printing my works or the ones of other photographers and amateurs who share my passion.<\/p>\n
